One of the most hotly-anticipated openings of late is the arrival of a third Barrafina in Covent Garden. This latest outpost is located on a plum corner site with beautiful arched windows, sand-coloured brickwork. The new Barrafina Drury Lane will have 23 stools – exactly the same as the original on Frith Street – but like Adelaide Street will also have a private dining room downstairs. Expect Barrafina’s trademark Spanish tapas with new ingredients for the menu, the group’s Executive Head Chef Nieves Barragán Mohacho has been hard at work building a new a la carte menu which will mix classic Barrafina favourites with new dishes inspired by recent trips to Galicia, San Sebastien and Mallorca. Barrafina Adelaide Street has just been named National Restaurant of the Year at the National Restaurant Awards 2015, so we’re extremely pleased that another outpost is joining its noble ranks.
