    Bellanger

Corbin and King have opened a new restaurant in London’s Islington called Bellanger. The new venue, occupies a former Browns at 9 Islington Green and is led by Head chef Lee Ward . It takes its name from Corbin and King’s tradition of linking restaurant names to cars, with this one inspired by Société des Automobiles Bellanger Frères, a French car manufacturer from 1912 to 1925.

The restaurant was designed by Shayne Brady, who previously designed Fischer’s and the Delaunay, Brasserie Zedel and Colbert under David Collins and has 195 covers inside and 24 on the terrace.

The menu displays a “distinct nod” to the Alsatian routes of the original Parisian brasseries, and there is a continuous food and drink offering throughout the day, from early breakfasts to late dinners. Typical dishes include choucroute, baeckoff and a range of tartes flambées, soups, salads, seafood, plats du jour and a number of sharing dishes. The wine list is principally French-based, with a focus on north eastern France and the border region with Germany. Traditional dark and blonde Alsace-Lorraine beers are served on tap
