Markets Group, the new British restaurant group co-founded by managing director Sergey Men and Anatoly Parkhomchu, has confirmed it has secured its first two sites in the UK.
As revealed by M&C Report earlier this month, the group secured a lease on the World’s End pub in Kings Road from the First Restaurant Group (FRG) for an opening this summer.
The company is currently converting the Noodle Time Chinese restaurant in Crystal Palace, to The Crystal Palace Market, which should open in a few weeks time.
It has taken an assignment of the existing 20-year lease on the World’s End from November 2010 paying £100,000 per year. FRG was advised by Restaurant Property. The 6,218 sq ft standalone pub will become The World’s End Market. The focus of the food will be on high quality, seasonal, and local British food.
Restaurant Property’s Mark Calder said: “The World’s End is a lovely period building in an affluent area located next to the Chelsea Theatre. Nearby operators include The Chelsea Bun Diner, La Famiglia, Bluebird, The Painted Heron and Riley’s. We would expect a quality innovative format to trade very well from this location.”
