The best places in London for a winter work night out

If you own or manage a venue in London, this post showcases the competition over the coming weeks. If you’re a professional looking to impress with a winter work night out, this is your check list. We wish everyone a great run up to Xmas and all the luck to London’s restauranteurs during this busy period.

    1. Queen of Hoxton

This stalwart of the Shoreditch bar scene is crowned with a great space on its roof. For those not already aware, during the winter its owners turn the rooftop into a rustic winter wonderland called “Woodlandia”, complete with open flames, hot boozy drinks and a giant wigwam for some indoor warmth.

Drink: Hot Buttered Rum – £6
Food: Slow Gin Pulled Lamb Shoulder £5.50

    2. The Old Truman Brewery

If there’s one place that is maxing out on its Christmas party capacity it’s The Old Truman Brewery. For two weeks it plays host to Professor Trumans Magical Laboratory – a themed party that gathers up to 1,200 guests from different businesses every night. The nutty professor of the list.

Tables: Groups of 10 people – £80 per head
Food: 3 course set meal – included
Drinks: Unlimited drinks – £30 per head

    3. Grain Store

With two Christmas menus available in December, Grain Store is looking to take the title of best Christmas restaurant on Granary Square. After a drink on arrival, visitors will enjoy food such as Endive, fruit vinaigrette, smoked salmon mousse, or wild fruit puree, potted cabbage, parsnip crisps, bacon, roast partridge and sausage. Delicious.

    Menu 1: 3 courses – £32.50
    Menu 2: 3 courses – £42.50

    4. The Portobello Star

For those planning to wrap-up and take a wonder down Portobello Road to find some last minute presents, we suggest popping into the Portobello Star. Its “Ginstitute” lets you blend and bottle your own gin, and sample a few tipples along the way. They also serve a great Portobello pie.

Ginstitute: Cocktail reception and class – £100
Food: Homemade beef cheek and ale pie – £7.50

    5. Circus

For an office night out, Circus has everything. Top of the range sipping cocktails, neat Pan-Asian set menus and outrageous entertainment set on a walkway between the tables. Finish up your meal, wait for the stage to be cleared and join every other well-served customer on the dance floor. Dinner to dancing, all in one place.

Tables: Group bookings – around £60 per head
    Food: Set menu – included
