A Meyhane has arrived in Marylebone. Apparently, a Meyhane is a Turkish tavern – which is what Yosma, a new mangal and raki bar in Marylebone is basing itself on and it’s got some rather interesting folk involved. The founders of the Good Food Society, Levent Buyukugur and Sanjay Nandi are behind this Turkish-style restaurant on the former site of Indali Lounge.

Yosma is headed up by ex-Barbecoa chef Hus Veda, who is of Turkish heritage himself. He comes here not only via Barbecoa but via the Caxton Grill and was also part of the launch team for Ceviche Old Street. His menu for Yosma is divided into cold meze, hot starters, mangal, clay oven and sides. There’ll be coal pits for roasting lamb and cooking fish delivered daily from Cornwall.

Top mixologist Matt Whiley will be heading up the drinks side of things, creating a raki-based cocktail list for the lounge bar. He’ll be mixing the raki with ingredients like fennel pollen, parsley gin and cucumber dilution. There’ll also be a lot of Turkish wines on the list and bottles of Efes beers too.

On the menu you can expect to see dishes like:

    • Kunefe – Kadoyif (strands of filo pastry), white cheese, syrup (pictured)
    • Tarsus Kebab – hand chopped leg of lamb, burnt tomato, frigatelli pepper
    • Dana Kaburga – short rib of beef wrapped in caul, pickled cucumber
    • Pancar – pit roasted golden beetroot, garlic, oil, dill
    • Kirmizi Biber – coal roasted bell peppers, lime zest
    • Manti – Turkish dumplings stuffed with lamb neck, yoghurt sauce, chilli, oil, mint

Restaurant Property advised on the deal.
